Podio Tip #4 Hi A, As things really get moving on Podio, you'll notice that staying on top of what's happening in your work is all about notifications. What you get notified about depends on what it is that you are  Following .  Some content in Podio you will automatically follow, such as items and status posts that you create. Here's a best practice guide to using them: Comments   – to us, comments are almost always the best way to discuss work for a number of reasons: they have an instantly recognizable context and they're quick to reference, as they're attached directly to the content you're discussing. If you want to loop someone new into a discussion, simply mention them by typing the @ symbol, followed by their name. Status posts  – sharing news or ideas in a workspace activity stream is a great way to reach a large group and start a discussion – especially when compared to mass emails. There are three common ways to organize your workspaces: Department  – the most popular workspace configuration is one per team. For example the design department, accounts department, etc. This will enable each team to add or create specific apps for their processes. Client  – for long standing client relationships running over multiple projects – setting up a workspace to share with the client streamlines your feedback process. Podio: how to customize Podio to fit your process

Podio Tip #1 By now you will have probably noticed that  apps  are the tools used in Podio to organize and track your work. These apps create records known as  items  – for example, an item could be a sales lead or project deliverable. You could think of items as single photos and apps as the albums. To reflect the specific work you're doing, you can customize your apps. By clicking  Modify Template  in any app you can c hange naming, add and remove fields, or even build something new from scratch, all  without a single line of code.
